NATPE: Forthcoming BBC1 thriller Apple Tree Yard has been picked up by Fox for its pan Latin American networks from distributor FremantleMedia International (FMI).

The 4×60’ drama, which is due to premiere in the UK this weekend, stars Academy Award nominee Emily Watson and is based on the novel by Louise Doughty.

Produced by Broadchurch producer Kudos, the plot follows a respected female scientist who commits a single impulsive act that sees her stand trial for murder.

The deal with Fox is just one of those sealed by FMI in Miami this week, with more than 100 hours of scripted and unscripted content sold from its catalogue.

Direct TV has acquired Wildside’s Mafia Only Kills (12×60’) in Summer and UFA Fiction’s Deutschland 86 for its US Hispanic networks.

In unscripted, Discovery Latin America has taken 25 hours of dating format Take Me Out and 8×60’ series The Cars That Made Us. The latest 23×60’ season of America’s Got Talent has gone to Sony Networks and the second run of Bondi Ink (10×60’) has gone to Turner.
