Fox goes into Family Practice

US broadcast network Fox has given a put pilot order to a drama about adoption from the creators of Life Sentence.

The Family Practice (working title) is an hour-long show written and exec produced by Erin Cardillo and Richard Keith.

Modern Family director Jason Winer will also executive produce via his Small Dog Picture Company, alongside Small Dog’s Jon Radler. 20th Century Fox Television and Good Company are also producing.

The show is as a procedural set in the world of adoption from the point of view of a group of attorneys and social workers who struggle with their own dysfunctional families.

Fox recently hinted it is working on a prequel to hit action drama series 24. There have also been reports of a revival of supernatural series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
