US network Fox has ordered a television pilot based on the X-Men movie franchise.

They are then forced to go on the run from a hostile government and join up with a group of mutants in order to survive.

Matt Nix (Burn Notice) will write the script and exec produce alongside X-Men franchise veterans Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer and Simon Kinberg, as well as Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory.

“Developing a Marvel property has been a top priority for the network and we are so pleased with how Matt Nix has led us into this thrilling universe,” said David Madden, president of entertainment at Fox Broadcasting Company.

Last year Fox announced development https://www.c21media.net/fx-fox-go-for-marvels-x-men/ of the X-Men-themed drama Hellfire before scrapping the project. It has also launched superhero shows Legion and Gotham recently.
