FNG to launch Fox+ in Germany

Fox Networks Group (FNG) is continuing the roll-out of its on-demand services in Europe by launching Fox+ in Germany.

The Fox+ launch line-up will include The Walking Dead

Deutsche Telekom is launching the service on various devices to its EntertainTV subscribers on October 4, providing on-demand access to series from the 21st Century Fox catalogue.

Germany is the seventh market to launch Fox+ after Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Greece and France. More markets will be added by the end of the year, FNG said today.

Shows in the launch line-up include multiple seasons of The Walking Dead, Empire and Graceland, as well as entire seasons of iconic shows such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

FNG already operates several linear pay TV channels in Germany including Fox, National Geographic, Nat Geo Wild and BabyTV.

Diego Londono, chief operating officer for FNG in Europe and Africa, said: “Our strategy is to extend the Fox brand into the non-linear space and deliver a premium, on-demand entertainment service with world-class content resonating with both our affiliate partners and consumers.

“As we bring Fox+ to another key territory, the results we are seeing from the product are surpassing our expectations.”
