FME does The Strip in Cannes

The Strip, the upcoming 13×60′ crime drama from Australia’s Nine Network and New Wave Entertainment, will get a Mipcom outing courtesy of FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME).

FME has acquired worldwide distribution rights to the series outside Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, with CEO David Ellender describing Australia as “a hotbed for explosive new drama that the world wants to see.”

The show stars Frankie J Holden (Underbelly) as the head of a detective unit solving crimes on Australia’s sun-drenched Gold Coast. Aaron Jeffery (McLeod’s Daughters) and Simone McAullay (Blue Heelers) also star.

Steve Knapman and Kris Wyld, best known for creating gritty drama, such as White Collar Blue, Wildside and East West 101, are producing the show, which will debut in primetime on Nine in late 2008.
