FremantleMedia names Brazil CEO

FremantleMedia has hired a TV Bandeirantes exec as CEO of its Brazilian operation, following Daniela Busoli’s departure last month.

Paula Cavalcanti will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of FremantleMedia Brazil, focusing on the development and production of programming for broadcasters across all platforms.

Based in São Paulo, she will work with FremantleMedia’s global production, licensing and sales operations. She will report to Sangeeta Desai, FremantleMedia’s chief operating officer and CEO of emerging markets.

Previous incumbent Busoli was named CEO of FremantleMedia Brazil in December 2013 but left last month to set up her own company.

Cavalcanti was most recently production director for the Bandeirantes Group’s free-to-air channel, TV Bandeirantes, and cable channels Bandsports and Bandnews.

While at TV Bandeirantes, she led the production of all original productions across news, sport and entertainment programming, including shows such as Masterchef Brazil and Still Standing. Prior to this, she was production director for SBT and Endemol Brazil, where she developed and produced shows including Deal or No Deal and 1 x 100 on SBT.
