Flame warms up Asian ties

Australian distributor Flame Productions has hired a former Screen Australia executive to develop its relationships with Asian buyers, content producers and coproduction partners.

Chris Oliver helped to drive Australian producers’ engagement with the Asian market during his five years as head of state and industry partnerships at the federal agency.

He will now work alongside the sales arm of New South Wales-based Flame.

One of his first tasks will be to attend Asian Side of the Doc this month with Flame MD John Caldon and Midi Stormont, content sales manager for Asia Pacific and Latin America.

“Flame has been working in Asia for several years and we’ve developed great working relationships with buyers across the region. Having Chris onboard will strengthen those relationships and help further develop our business in the region,” said Caldon.
