Boy to Man (12 x 60’) follows Australian journalist/filmmaker Tim Noonan as he embarks on a solo journey to explore tribes in remote parts of the world.

His adventures will see Noonan meet the Nenets, the reindeer people of Siberia, the indigenous people of Guinea Bissau and the Kazakh men in Mongolia.

In each episode he is put through rituals, initiations and gruelling tests to prove himself worthy of their respect.

Noonan, who also works as a reporter for Seven Network Australia’s Sunday Night programme, came up with the idea and developed it with Seven Productions in consultation with executives at 7Beyond.

The concept was pitched to Travel Channel by Michael Krupat, 7Beyond’s senior VP of development.

Launched in 2013 with the remit to create programming for the North American market, 7Beyond is a co-venture between Seven and Beyond Productions.

Beyond Distribution will handle international sales of the series.

London-based 7Wonder, a co-venture between Seven and former Maverick Television executives Alexandra Fraser, Liza Abbott and Simon Ellse, produced Micky’s Flanagan’s Detour de France for Sky1 as its first commission.

Sky Arts recently ordered Lenny Henry’s Got the Blues (3×60′) from 7Wonder and Henry’s Douglas Road Productions.
