Firecracker hires Mentorn alum Morgan

Tinopolis-owned UK prodco Firecracker has brought in a former Mentorn Media and Two Four executive to lead its factual slate.

Emma Morgan is joining in the newly created role of creative director of factual, based in London. She will be responsible for spearheading the development and production of new series and formats for the UK and US.

Morgan most recently executive produced Channel 4 series A Very British Hotel and previously held creative roles at Mentorn, Two Four and Oxford Scientific Films. She is also deputy chair of the Bafta TV Committee.

Her credits include Channel 4’s hit Educating… series and The Fried Chicken Shop, plus The Hotel Fixer for Channel 5.

Jes Wilkins, chief creative officer at Big Fat Gypsy Weddings producer Firecracker, said: “Emma is one of the most talented and innovative creatives in the business. I’ve always wanted to work with her and I’m delighted the time has finally come.

“She joins an excellent senior team at an exciting time for Firecracker as we try to build on a strong slate of new and existing series from both our London and Glasgow offices, and I can’t wait to see what she will come up with next.”
