Fincham, Hincks land Warner Bros exec

Peter Fincham and Tim Hincks’ fledgling prodco Expectation has appointed a Warner Bros exec as its chief operating officer.

Alexia Edwards

Alexia Edwards is the latest arrival at BBC Worldwide-backed Expectation, which was launched by former ITV controller Fincham and ex-Endemol Shine Group chief Hincks in November.

Edwards joins from Warner Bros Television Production in the UK, where she has spent the last six months as group commercial and business affairs director.

Prior to that, she was head of legal and business affairs at ITV in the UK for a decade, responsible for the legal, commercial and business affairs for all entertainment, comedy and children’s programming across its UK channels.

Edwards began her career as a lawyer at All3Media-owned UK prodco Lion Television, where she worked on the production and distribution deal terms for Lion programming with major international broadcasters.

In her new role, she will work alongside Rob Brown, chief financial officer, to create opportunities and to fully maximise Expectation’s business interests..

Fincham, co-CEO of Expectation, said: “I worked with Alexia for the duration of my time at ITV and she is well respected for her reputation as being a strong negotiator. Working hand in glove with Rob Brown, we have an exceptional operating team.”

Edwards joins Expectation next month, working alongside other recent arrivals including creative directors for entertainment Nick Mather and Nick Samwell-Smith; comedy creative chief Nerys Evans; and factual execs Colin Barr and Amy Flanagan.
