Figaro Pho finds SVoD home

US video streamer Hulu and SVoD giant Netflix have landed a series of programming deals with the commercial arm of the ABC in Australia.

Both services have acquired rights for children’s animation The Adventures of Figaro Pho from ABC Commercial, which is produced by Canadian-Australian prodco Chocolate Liberation Front.

The show follows the adventures of Figaro Pho, who has numerous phobias, and his dog Rivet, and has already sold around the world including to Canal+ in France, BBC Kids Canada and HBO Czech.

It has also spawned a spin-off, The New Adventures of Figaro Pho, which is currently in production with Luma Toons, the animation division of visual effects studio and series partner Luma Pictures.

Hulu has also acquired ABC comedy Bess of Both Worlds (16×30’) while Netflix has secured cycling documentary Stop at Nothing: The Lance Armstrong Story (1×97’).
