FIC ups Rutten for sport

FIC sports exec Frank Rutten

Fox International Channels (FIC) has promoted Frank Rutten to the role of exec VP of sports for Europe and Africa.

Rutten will now report directly to Jan Koeppen, president of FIC in Europe and Africa, and continue to have operational responsibility as MD of Fox Sports in the Netherlands. He will remain based in Amsterdam.

FIC said the move is part of its “strategy of building locally relevant sports channels and multi-media businesses” in the regions.

FIC now operates six linear channels and an extensive online operation under its Fox Sports channel brand in the Netherlands, with rights to live football from the local Eredivisie as well as the Premier League, German Bundesliga, MLB and NHL. It also operates sports networks in Italy, Turkey, Israel, Greece and Sub-Saharan Africa.
