FIC nabs Amazon exec

Fox International Channels (FIC) has hired an executive from Amazon Instant Video to oversee the distribution of its networks in Europe and Africa.

Caleb Weinstein has been appointed executive VP of affiliate distribution for Europe and Africa, reporting to Jan Koeppen, FIC president of the region.

Based in London, Weinstein will oversee the revenues and roll out of channels including Fox, Fox Sports, FoxLife and National Geographic Channel.

He will also explore partnerships with pay TV platforms and identify new distribution avenues for FIC’s brands.

Weinstein is currently head of global partnerships for Amazon Instant Video, and prior to that spent time as senior VP and general manager of distribution for Discovery Networks EMEA. He has also had stints at MTV Networks and New Line Cinema.
