Feldman has stepped down as executive director having helped launch the organisation in July last year to promote better training, fairer wages and safer working conditions across the reality genre.

The NPA’s eight founding members include Leftfield Pictures, Loud TV and Big Fish Entertainment. Its membership has now grown to 34, made up of companies operating in New York and LA.

In a statement, the organisation said: “We want to express our sincere gratitude to Rick Feldman, whose expertise and hard work successfully launched the NPA, securing membership by many of the industry’s top producers of unscripted television.”

Feldman, who was head of US market organisation Natpe between 2003 and 2012, added: “I am very proud of getting the NPA off the ground and recruiting 34 diverse companies.”
