Pilkington exits Virgin Media TV Virgin Media Television's (VMTV) senior commissioning editor for Bravo and Virgin1, Lucy Pilkington, is leaving the UK cable network after six years. No details of her next move have been released, but VMTV said she had left "to pursue other projects." While at the cable company, her commissions included the Danny Dyer series Real Football Factories and Deadliest Men; Brits Behind Bars; The Prisoner; and Big Trouble in Thailand. The latter project, made by Vera Productions for Bravo, has recently been involved in a whirlwind of controversy, with accusations of scenes being faked and a provincial Thai police chief accusing producers of attempting to smear Thailand with the series. Talking to C21, a spokeswoman for VMTV strongly denied that Pilkington's exit had anything to do with the series. "There's nobody at fault from that on this side," she said of the series, adding of Pilkington: "It's simply that she's moving on." In a statement, VMTV MD Johnny Webb said: "Lucy's popular factual sensibilities have proved a real asset to Virgin Media Television over the past six years." She is expected to be replaced by a commissioner who works across the VMTV channels. Adam Benzine 15 Oct 2009 © C21 Media 2009
