Falco lands on Turner’s TNT in Lat Am

Falco is based on German series The Last Cop

Turner Latin America has acquired the Mexican adaptation of Red Arrow Studios International’s scripted format The Last Cop for cable network TNT.

Falco (15×60′) is based on the German series and comes from Narcos producer Dynamo and Spiral International.

Set in Mexico City, the Spanish-language show follows a police officer with a promising future whose world is shattered when he is shot by a mysterious attacker in the line of duty and falls into a 24-year coma.

Red Arrow Studios International has previously sold Falco to Amazon Prime Video for Latin America and to NBCUniversal’s Telemundo for the US.

The Last Cop was originally created and produced by ITV Studios Germany for Sat.1 and has been remade by broadcasters including TF1 in France, Channel 5 in Russia, streamer Hulu and Nippon TV in Japan.

“This series is added to a bigger strategy that TNT has been developing in Mexico, focusing on local talent and shows with the objective of producing original content,” said Tomás Yankelevich, executive VP and chief content officer, general entertainment, at Turner Latin America.
