Factory snares Megamonsters

The distribution arm of factual specialist producer Factory Media has acquired an engineering series from Ukrainian prodco Film UA.

Soviet Megamonsters (10×60′) profiles extraordinary and difficult-to-reach structures including bomb shelters, secret vaults and underground railways.

Two episodes in the first season are given over to the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, the area around the site of the 1986 nuclear plant disaster.

The series is part of Kiev-based Film UA’s ongoing partnership with Insiders Project, a team of urban explorers with a strong international following.

The sales arm of Factory Media picked the series up for global distribution outside the CIS, the UK and the Americas at Mipcom in Cannes last week.

Georgie Eyre, head of acquisitions at Factory, said: “Using urban exploration as a medium, the series gives us an exclusive and in-depth look internal and external structures of some of the most fascinating industrial behemoths.”
