Facebook, Cox birth pregnancy show

Facebook is working with Friends star Courteney Cox and US firm Ample Entertainment on a docuseries about pregnancy for its Watch platform.

Courteney Cox

9 Months will be executive produced by Cox and is currently casting individuals and couples who are trying to become or have recently found out they are pregnant.

Told from the point of view of the participants, the documentary will feature the stories of same-sex couples looking for a surrogate, pregnant teenagers and professional athletes who are training while carrying a child.

Cox is also currently developing a comedy project, Truthing, at UK broadcaster ITV with local producer Big Talk.

Ample Entertainment, which has been behind shows such as Murder in the Heartland on ID and Cooper’s Treasure on Discovery, was founded by former Xbox executive Ari Mark and British showrunner Phil Lott. It recently announced an overall deal with veteran British executive producer John Henshaw.

9 Months marks the latest commission for the social network’s nascent video platform Watch, which  unveiled three projects at Natpe Miami last month, plus a talkshow with Jada Pinkett Smith and an eight-episode comedy variety show fronted by NFL star Von Miller.
