Eyeworks buys into canine concept

NEWS BRIEF: Strix Television has sold its new pooch-themed format My Best Friend to the Belgian arm of Netherlands-based production company Eyeworks.

The show takes eight people who, for different reasons, are being forced to give their dogs away, and helps find new homes for the pets. Ultimately, however, it is the dogs that decide.

The option deal with Eyeworks Belgium is not Strix’s first for the format, which has already been sold to UFA Entertainment in Germany and Endemol Italia.
