Eurosport unveils Winter Olympics channels

Copyright: Getty ImagesDiscovery-owned Eurosport is launching three pop-up channels in the UK as part of its broadcast plans for the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.

Alongside its regular channels and streaming service, Eurosport 1, Eurosport 2 and Eurosport Player, the network will add Eurosport 3, 4 and 5, providing Olympics fans in the UK and Ireland with additional action from the games, which begin today.

The channels will be available in high definition to BT TV, Virgin Media and Virgin Media Ireland customers. Live and on-demand coverage will also be available via Eurosport Player and the Eurosport app, which will include up to 16 bonus channels.

Coverage will include 4,000 hours of competition across 100 events, up to 900 hours of live action and expert analysis and daily highlights programmes.

Eurosport is also launching PyeongChang Today, hosted by Olympic gold medal-winning triple jumper Jonathan Edwards. The flagship programme showcases the biggest moments from the games daily on Eurosport 1.

“An unprecedented five TV channels, together with Eurosport Player, will show every minute of the games, helping us to redefine the Olympic Games viewing experience for superfans.”
