Euro nets welcome Norway’s Young

NRK's Young & Promising

NRK’s Young & Promising

German, UK and French on-demand services have picked up Norwegian drama Young & Promising from Nevision-owned financier and distributor About Premium Content.

The show follows a group of city-dwelling women who want more from life. It will become available on fledgling German service Funk, operated by ARD and ZDF, as well as Channel 4’s Walter Presents in the UK and CanalPlay in France.

The 12×30’ series, commissioned by NRK in Norway and filmed in Norwegian, is produced by Monster AS and directed by Eirik Svensson and Bård Fjulsrud. APC holds worldwide rights.

The deal, secured with APC’s German buyer Studio Hamburg Distribution and Marketing, will also see the show airing on German broadcaster ARD’s free-to-air channel One.

Laurent Boissel, joint CEO and co-founder at APC, said: “VoD platforms and broadcasters all over the world continue to look for quality drama targeted at millennials. With its strong female leads and a tone that resonates with our time, Young & Promising will appeal to this very coveted audience.”
