Euro nets return for Best Singers

Broadcasters across Europe have commissioned new seasons of Zodiak Rights format The Best Singers.

In Germany VOX launched an 8×60’ series in April that increased the slot average by more 60%. A Christmas special and second eight-part season for 2015 have now been greenlit with local prodco Schwarzkopf TV.

French broadcaster TF1 aired its first season of the format, produced by Zodiak’s local prodco Adventure Line Productions, in January and will launch a second extended run later this year.

In addition, Kanal 2 has committed to a second season in Estonia for 2015, Mastiff Sweden has secured a fifth season for TV4, Mastiff Norway has ordered a fourth season for TV2 and Nelonen in Finland has commissioned a further two seasons from Zodiak Finland.

The show, originally created by Dutch indie FTV Productions for NED3, sees eight of a country’s best loved music stars thrown together to perform each other’s greatest hits in their own style.

Zodiak Rights, the international distribution division of Zodiak Media, holds global rights to the format excluding Belgium.
