Euro nets dig up more Aussie Gold

Broadcasters in Europe has acquired the second season of reality series Aussie Gold Hunters from UK distributor DCD Rights.

The new season, produced by Electric Pictures for Discovery UK and Pacific Rim, has been picked up by Viasat World in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, and Discovery-owned DMax in Italy and Spain. The series examines the high-stakes world of Australian gold prospectors.

Elsewhere, DCD has also sold Tern Productions’ Morocco To Timbuktu: An Arabian Adventure (2×60′) to Knowledge Network in Canada, FTV Prima in Czech Republic and Arte in France and Germany.

The BBC2 documentary sees writer and explorer Alice Morrison attempt to follow North Africa’s ancient Salt Roads.

Meanwhile, Nine Network in Australia has taken Popkorn TV’s Trolls: We’re Coming to Get You, a three-part documentary produced for Channel 5 in the UK, from DCD, alongside BBC Productions’ one-hour special I Shot My Parents.
