Euro nets blast off with Q Pootle 5

Broadcasters in Belgium, Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands have acquired UK-produced preschool animated series Q Pootle 5 from ZDF Enterprises.

Ketnet in Belgium, SVT in Sweden, NRK in Norway and NPO in the Netherlands will air the 52×11′ series, which follows the adventures of an alien and his friends.

The toon, produced by Snapper Productions, will also air on CBeebies in Africa, having launched on the BBC preschool channel in the UK last year.

Aimed at kids aged 4 to 6, it is based on author and illustrator Nick Butterworth’s book series and animated by UK studio Blue Zoo.

The series is now set to air in more than 70 countries worldwide, having previously been sold to broadcasters such as KiKa in Germany, ABC in Australia, YLE in Finland, TG4 in Ireland, Hop! TV in Israel and MTVA in Hungary.
