ESG wins NBCU’s Knife Fight

Endemol Shine Germany has picked up format rights to NBCUniversal International Formats (NBCUIF) culinary competition show Knife Fight.

The 6×60’ series is set to air on RTL Group’s Vox later this year. The local version, which sees talented chefs face off against each other to create gourmet dishes in unruly conditions, will be presented by German TV chef Tim Mälzer, with his Bullerei restaurant serving as the studio.

NBCUIF is hopeful Knife Fight can emulate the success of its fellow cookery format Top Chef, which has 22 versions worldwide.

Elsewhere, NBCUniversal International Studios has confirmed the cast for its forthcoming adaptation of action-thriller movie Hanna for Amazon Prime Video.

The series, penned by David Farr and produced alongside Working Title Television, reunites Mireille Enos (Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams) with her The Killing co-star Joel Kinnaman (Altered Carbon, House of Cards), with Esme Creed-Miles (Dark River) also starring.

NBCUniversal International Studios’ JoAnn Alfano and Working Title Television’s Andrew Woodhead will exec produce with Marty Adelstein, who produced the original film, and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios. Tom Coan serves as co-executive Producer for NBCUniversal International Studios and Hugh Warren is producing. Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner also serve as executive producers for Working Title.
