Scandinavia captures Escape Artist

Broadcasters in Norway and Sweden have picked up British legal drama The Escape Artist, starring David Tennant.

TV2 in Norway and TV4 in Sweden will air the three-part series, having acquired rights from distributor Red Arrow International.

The first episode is set to premiere in the UK on BBC1 tonight and sees Tennant play a defence lawyer who helps acquit the prime suspect in a horrific murder trial, the consequences of which come back to haunt him.

The three-part series was written by David Wolstencroft and produced by Red Arrow-owned prodco Endor Productions.

John Ranelagh, head of acquisitions at TV2 Norway, said acquiring The Escape Artist for the channel was a “no-brainer.”
