Epix eyes Meg Ryan Picture comedy

Meg Ryan will star in the TV version of Picture Paris

US pay network Epix is adapting short film Picture Paris for the small screen, with the TV version set to star Meg Ryan.

The half-hour comedy will follow the life of a woman who visits Paris with her husband but finds the idyllic trip she dreamed of does not exist.

It is set to be produced by Kapital Entertainment with Entertainment One and will be written and directed by Brad Hall, according to Deadline, which first broke the news.

Ryan’s last regular TV appearance was in 1985, when starring in Wildside on ABC.

Epix was previously focused on films, before branching out into original scripted projects with Berlin Station and Graves in 2015.

In May last year it ordered its third original drama, a small-screen version of 1995 comedy-thriller film Get Shorty, and commissioned a second season of contemporary spy drama Berlin Station from Viacom-owned Paramount.
