Morayniss, CEO of eOne Television, arrived at the Toronto-, Los Angeles- and London-based firm in 2008 after it took over Blueprint Entertainment, which he co-founded, and will now remain with the company through 2018.

He is based in LA with his oversight extending to UK-based eOne Television International, the division’s Toronto headquarters and its international offices.

Since arriving at eOne, Morayniss has tripled the division’s revenue and the company has invested recently in a host of prodcos, including Paperny Entertainment and Force Four Entertainment.

In December, eOne promoted the chief operating officer of its TV arm, Margaret O’Brien, to oversee the company’s increasing M&A activity and earlier this month it acquired a majority stake in The Mark Gordon Company, the US producer behind Grey’s Anatomy and Ray Donovan, for US$132.6m.

Darren Throop, president and CEO of eOne, said Morayniss would help “drive further growth and diversification” in its TV business as it seeks to double in size over the next five years.

eOne’s TV portfolio includes more than 35 series, including The Walking Dead, Hell on Wheels and Rookie Blue, and the division’s revenues were up nearly 37% in its third-quarter results yesterday.
