eOne enters VR world with Elsley, PJDN team

People Just Do Nothing centres on a pirate radio station

Entertainment One (eOne) is partnering with Bryan Elsley and the Bafta-winning team behind BBC3 hit People Just Do Nothing to develop a new comedy series.

Gary1987 (working title) follows an unemployed man who enters the VR world to make money but ends up way over his head.

Elsley, who is the creator of UK hit Skins, Kiss Me First and producer of Clique, will work Steve Stamp, Allan Mustafa and Jack Clough – the team behind BBC/Netflix hit comedy People Just Do Nothing – to develop the show.

The series will be produced by eOne and Elsley’s Balloon Entertainment, and spearheaded by Polly Williams for eOne. Elsley will serve as executive producer, with eOne handling international rights.

We couldn’t be more excited to be teaming up with his production company Balloon Entertainment, co-owned with Harry Enfield, as well as the talented team behind the break-out hit UK series People Just Do Nothing,” commented Pancho Mansfield, eOne’s president of global scripted programming, television.
