Dom Waugh has been promoted to the newly created role of creative director of entertainment and has responsibility for expanding the company’s slate by creating and producing new formats for the UK and international markets.

Waugh became head of development at Remarkable in 2010 and stepped up to become an in-house executive producer in 2014. His credits include Pointless and Pointless Celebrities for BBC1, Two Tribes for BBC2 and Channel 4’s The Million Pound Drop.

Meanwhile, Paul Brassey has been appointed head of entertainment development, having been head of development at UK prodco Possessed since 2015. He has also worked for CPL Productions, the BBC, North One Television and 12 Yard, where he created Sky1’s A League of Their Own.

Remarkable’s slate includes BBC1 hit Pointless and its primetime Saturday night offering Pointless Celebrities; The House that £100K Built for BBC2; and forthcoming Sky1 show The Big Spell, a family entertainment series that will uncover the nation’s best young speller.

James Fox, joint MD at Remarkable, said: “Dom is a brilliant creative and programme maker with an inherent instinct and experience in developing and producing innovative formats. We’re also thrilled that Paul is joining Remarkable as we build our creative team and move to the next phase of growth.”

Fox leads Remarkable with former exec producer Kitty Walshe, who returned to the firm from Twofour last year, replacing previous joint MDs Nick Mather and Colette Foster.
