Endemol Shine taps Spike’s Levy

Endemol Shine North America has appointed the exec VP of original series at US network Spike to oversee its TV output.

Sharon Levy

Sharon Levy becomes president of unscripted and scripted television at Endemol Shine’s North American division, which is behind shows including Big Brother for CBS, MasterChef and MasterChef Junior for Fox and MTV’s Fear Factor.

She had spent more than 12 years at Spike working on its unscripted and scripted series, and the last seven in her most recent role across original series.

Levy oversaw the acquisition, creation and production of all entertainment throughout the network’s evolution and was behind shows such as Ink Master, Bar Rescue and Auction Hunters.

She also worked on Spike’s drama output, which included Tut, starring Ben Kingsley, and forthcoming show Waco, from The Weinstein Company. Levy led a push into documentaries at Spike, launching numerous specials including TIME: The Kalief Browder Story.

Cris Abrego

Levy originally joined Spike in 2005 as senior VP for original series and before that was an executive producer at US-based Stone Stanley Entertainment. She began her career at Comedy Central working in public relations.

“Sharon is one of our industry’s most respected executives and brings with her a tremendous amount of experience developing and producing hits across a wide array of genres,” said Cris Abrego, chairman of Endemol Shine Americas and CEO at Endemol Shine North America.

Levy added: “There’s a lot of momentum across the unscripted and scripted divisions and I can’t wait to get started with the incredible team.”

Abrego took up his role after Charlie Corwin stepped down as co-CEO and co-chairman of Endemol Shine North America and Endemol Shine Americas last year.
