Endemol Shine Boomdog (ESB), set up towards the end of last year by Endemol Shine Latino and Mexican firm Boomdog, will develop scripted and unscripted projects with Terrero’s production company Cinema Giants.

Targeting the Latin TV market, the first of these projects is 13-part documentary series Under, about the world of reggaeton, a musical genre influenced by hip hop and Latin American and Caribbean music.

Terrero’s most recent feature film, Freelancers, starred Robert De Niro, Forest Whittaker and Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson. He has also made music videos for artists including Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias, Farruko and Prince Royce.

Terrero is currently serving as executive producer and director on ESB’s forthcoming drama series Nicky Jam: El Ganador, which was recently sold to Telemundo and Netflix.

“Over the last couple of years, we have witnessed the global impact of Latin urban music in the mainstream and I look forward to developing content that resonates with that culture,” said Terrero.

ESB’s slate includes El Vato (Netflix/Universo), MasterChef Mexico (TV Azteca), Mira Quién Baila (Univision), Chumel con Chumel Torres (HBO), as well as Tu Cara Me Suena (Univision) and MasterChef Latino (Telemundo).

ESB is also producing El Clan, a scripted series based on Maria Raquenel Portillo’s forthcoming autobiography, with DNF Pictures, and a scripted series based on Latin boy band Menudo, alongside Somos Productions and Piñolywood Studios.
