Electus works for charity series

US-based Electus International has acquired distribution rights to a new factual series set to debut on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network that explores the work of a global charity.

Operation Change (10×60′) follows non-profit organisation the Starkey Hearing Foundation, which provides free hearing aids. The show sees celebrities and philanthropists including former US president Bill Clinton and musician Elton John working together to tackle a range of social problems.

It is being produced by Steven Sawalich’s Articulus Entertainment, with Teri Weinberg of Yellow Brick Road Productions, Sawalich and Natalee Watts attached as exec producers.

The show is one of a number of series to be presented at MipTV next week by Electus International, the distribution arm of US multimedia studio Electus.

Also on the firm’s slate is climate change doc series Years of Living Dangerously (9×60′), which is set to premiere on Showtime in the US this month; Bravo’s Online Dating Rituals of the American Male (6×60′); and NBC’s culinary series Food Fighters (8×60′).
