Electus picks up Lighthearted formats

The distribution arm of US studio Electus has picked up rights to two unscripted titles from Howard Schultz’s Lighthearted Entertainment.

Electus International has acquired international sales rights to dating format Next, which originally aired on MTV from 2007 to 2008, and gameshow Anything for You.

Next is a speed-dating show that sees which of five singletons can last the longest on a date. The longer they last, the more money they could win.

Meanwhile, Anything for You gives contestants the chance to win US$250,000 by answering 13 multiple choice questions. If they get any wrong, their friends and family can keep them in the game by completing a series of challenges.

Lighthearted makes Extreme Makeover and The Moment of Truth.

The pact reunites Schultz with John Pollak, who joined Electus last month as president of its new distribution wing. The company is run by Pollak’s former Reveille colleagues Ben Silverman and Chris Grant.

Pollak oversaw distribution of The Moment of Truth when he worked for Shine International (fka Reveille International).
