Electus launches Latin production arm

LA SCREENINGS: Electus International has launched a Mexican production arm to cater to the Latin American market, the IAC-owned company announced today.

Paulette Bensussen

Electus Latino will be based in Mexico City and led by Paulette Bensussen, a Latin American programming veteran who joined Electus in 2011. As head of Electus Latino, she will continue to report to John Pollak, president of worldwide television at Electus International.

The new division will bring together content providers with top brands to create and produce new series for the Latin market. It will cover scripted and unscripted, and sell content from Electus International and its partners. It will also acquire new formats from the region to develop and distribute globally.

“Paulette is the perfect person to lead Electus Latino,” said Pollak. “She has extensive experience in the region and an eye for finding content that will engage and attract audiences – not just in Latin America, but all over the world.”

Bensussen’s CV includes stints at BBC Worldwide and Scripps Networks, handling the Lat Am region for both companies, before launching her own company Ganesh Entertainment in 2006.

“The time is right to expand our operations in Latin America,” added Bensussen. “Our track-record, cultural knowledge and wide network of long-standing relationships in the region are the perfect formula to kick-start production of fresh original content for and from the region.”
