E4 extends Famous panel show

Channel 4’s youth-skewing network E has ordered two more seasons of panel show Virtually Famous, fronted by one of the stars of Fox’s musical comedy Glee.

The UK channel will air two more 10×45′ runs, coproduced by FremantleMedia-owned Talkback and fledgling UK indie Hungry Bear Media.

US actor Kevin McHale presents the show, which sees panelists discuss highlights from the online world, such as viral memes, twitter rants, YouTube posts and Vine shorts.

“It’s notoriously hard to launch a brand new panel show, so we were thrilled to see it connect so successfully with our 16-34 audience,” said Channel 4’s head of formats, Dom Bird.

FremantleMedia distributes the format internationally.
