Coproduction and deficit-financing company Drive has appointed the founder of Rights TV as a non-executive director with immediate effect.

Andrew Baker will work with Drive in a strategic and advisory capacity to help grow the business in the UK and internationally.

He was previously head of business affairs for Granada Television and ITV, before founding Rights TV, a provider of business affairs and commercial advice to the media, film and television industry, in 2004. Baker later sold the company to Compact Media Group in 2011.

His role with Drive will see him work with joint MDs Ben Barrett and Lilla Hurst, advising on a range of strategic and commercial objectives and opportunities

“Having worked with Andrew many times over the years, I know first-hand that his experience and knowledge makes him an ideal person to have on board as we continue Drive’s expansion both in the UK and internationally,” said Barrett.

Drive was founded in April 2013 by Barrett and Hurst to facilitate the production funding process by providing consultancy services and sourcing finance for TV projects.

Baker added: “Drive is at a key point in its evolution and I am delighted to join the company to help Ben and Lilla shape the strategy and direction of the business going forward.”
