DRG captures WildBear content

UK-based DRG has acquired distribution rights to multiple factual series from WildBear Entertainment in Australia, including one about a professional snake catcher.

DRG has taken two seasons of Snake Boss (20×30′), which follows a thrill-seeking mother of two from Brisbane who gave up life as a pastry chef to catch snakes.

Produced by WildBear Entertainment and Flickchicks, the series has aired on Animal Planet in Australia and internationally. The second season is due to air later this year.

DRG will also represent Supersize Structures (6×60′), which explores some of the biggest enterprises in construction, civil engineering and manufacturing, and The 101 Who Made the Twentieth Century (8×60′).

The latter uses archive material and expert views to profile some of the past century’s most important figures, including Nelson Mandela, Winston Churchill, Alan Turing and Steve Jobs.

The deal with WildBear, which was struck via the Aussie company’s agent Edwina Thring of Wild Thring Media, also includes the third season of Baby Animals Around the World (10×60′).

The series has already been sold to broadcasters including Sky Italia, Canal in Poland, Choice in New Zealand, Multicanal Iberia in Spain, Beijing Continental in China, Next Step in Thailand and Netflix.
