UKTV puts up Sony’s Red Tent

UK multi-channel operator UKTV has picked up Sony Pictures Television miniseries The Red Tent for its Drama channel.

The Red Tent (4×60’), which comes to Drama as the channel celebrates its third birthday, was adapted from the bestselling novel of the same name by Anita Diamant and follows the tale of Dinah, the daughter of Leah and Jacob, who is referred to briefly in the Old Testament of the Bible.

The series originally aired on Lifetime in the US and Showtime in Canada.

Alexandra Finlay, UKTV’s head of acquisitions and coproductions said: “The Red Tent is a perfect addition to Drama’s growing slate of shows, featuring an epic story with a fantastic ensemble cast.”

The programme, which has sold to numerous territories, including Spain, will premiere on Drama in early 2017.
