Drag Race roars into Thailand’s Line TV

RuPaul’s Drag Race is set for its 10th season on Logo in the US

A broadcaster in Thailand has become the first in Asia to order a local version of the Drag Race format fronted by RuPaul in the US.

Line TV will begin airing Drag Race Thailand on February 15 after Bangkok-based The Kantana Group acquired the format, created by US-based World of Wonder, from Passion Distribution.

The first season will be hosted by fashion stylist Art-Araya In-dra and sees 10 of the top Thai drag queens compete against each other in challenges.

The deal follows the local adaptation of Drag Race in Chile, where it is known as The Switch Drag Race: El Arte Del Transformismo and airs on Mega.

The US version is hosted by celebrated drag queen RuPaul and will begin its 10th season on Logo TV and VH1 this spring. Meanwhile, the third season of spin-off show RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars will begin airing on January 25.
