Michael Thouber has been channel manager at DR2 since 2012 and is set to leave the TV industry after being named director of art gallery Kunsthal Charlottenborg. He will take up the new role on September 1.

Thouber arrived at the Danish pubcaster in 2001 as an editor and radio host, before working on a variety of DR’s cultural shows, including Kulturkøbing (Culture Ville) and Deadline.

He became joint controller at DR2 alongside Adam Holm following an overhaul of the channel’s programming mix, which led to a focus on current affairs and analysis. DR2 is now looking for a replacement controller, with Holm having stepped down from his position in 2013.
