Dr Seuss’s Cat finds Euro homes

Broadcasters in Portugal and Germany have acquired episodes of The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That! from the sales arm of Canadian firm Portfolio Entertainment.

Pubcaster RTP and pay TV channel SIC K in Portugal have both acquired 60×30′ episodes of the popular preschool toon, based on the books by Dr Seuss (Theodor Geisel), as well as a Christmas-themed one-hour special.

Meanwhile, KiKa in Germany has taken an additional 20×30′ episodes of the series from distributor Portfolio International.

The toon is produced by Portfolio and Collingwood O’Hare Productions in the UK in association with Dr Seuss Enterprises and Random House Children’s Entertainment. It originally aired on Treehouse in Canada and PBS Kids in the US, where it started its run in October 2010.
