Zodiak Media-owned prodco Adventure Line Productions, which created the Fort Boyard concept and has been producing the series for 23 years, confirmed it would be making new episodes of Fort Boyard – Ultimate Challenge.

The adventure gameshow will again be produced alongside another Zodiak-owned prodco, The Foundation, which is based in the UK. The transmission date for season three is as-yet unknown. Line manager for the show at Adventure Line, Pierre Godde, said that “changes” would be made to the format in the new episodes, but declined to comment further.

In the previous two seasons of Ultimate Challenge (20×30′), 24 teenagers from the US and the UK competed as teams in a series of physical and mental challenges. The show aired on CiTV and Disney XD in the US.

Disney has licensed previous seasons of Ultimate Challenge across its XD cabsat channel globally, except for France and the Nordics. The second season aired in on Disney XD and on CiTV earlier this year.

In April, Russian kidsnet Karusel acquired seasons one and two of the gameshow from Zodiak.
