Discovery hires Riot president

Discovery Channel in the US has appointed a Leftfield Entertainment exec as its VP of development.

Stephanie Angelides will be based in New York and will develop across Discovery’s output, reporting to Denise Contis, Discovery’s exec VP of production and development.

Angelides was most recently president of Leftfield’s Riot Creative label and worked on shows for networks including Nat Geo Wild.

Prior to Riot, Angelides had developed more than 200 hours of programming while working for Optomen Productions. Before that, she was senior VP of development at celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey’s One Potato Two Potato.

Contis said Angelides “has deep development experience working on a wide variety of programming across both traditional and digital platforms.”
