Latin American children’s channel Discovery Kids has brought a Canadian producer onboard a new series based on its animated mascot.

Discovery has tapped Canada’s Portfolio Entertainment (The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! ^[1]) to coproduce the series with US-based JBMW Media, which it brought in last year ^[2] to find a production partner.

The title of the 26×30′ series was not revealed but it will star Doki, an animated dog that has appeared in numerous interstitials, online and across other platforms, promoting the Discovery Kids brand in the region. He also features in a shortform series, Doki y Sus Amigos (Doki and Friends) and a 30-minute special, Aventuras de Doki (Doki’s Adventures).

The series will launch in the fourth quarter, according to a previous announcement.
