Discovery hails Cash Cab for reboot

Discovery in the US has ordered a reboot of its entertainment show Cash Cab, in which a taxi driver quizzes unsuspecting passengers and offers them the chance to win cash prizes.

Cash Cab has been adapted in countries worldwide

Comedian David Steinberg is on board the show, which will be produced by All3Media-owned Lion USA and Norton Productions.

In the new version of the show, different celebrities will get behind the wheel of the cab and pick up contestants.

The original series ran between 2005 and 2012, while international versions have been produced in countries such as the Philippines, Israel, Turkey, Belgium and Germany. The reboot will premiere on Discovery later this year.
