The 26×22′ CGI series, aimed at 6-12s, will air alongside shows such as My Little Pony and Littlest Pet Shop on the network.

The toon centres on twins who defend the real world from nightmare monsters and has previously been sold into more than 60 other countries by distributor DreamWorks Classics.

Discovery Family rebranded last October from The Hub Network, a previous joint venture from Discovery and Hasbro. It airs children’s programming during the day and family-skewing live-action series later at night.

Dream Defenders premiered in the US on 3net, the 3D channel formed by Sony, Discovery and IMAX that Tom Cosgrove, the current general manager of DFC, was the president of between 2010 and 2014.
