Discovery Family opens another Pet Shop

Hasbro’s original animated series Littlest Pet Shop

Discovery Family in the US is gearing up to launch a spin-off to its animated series Littlest Pet Shop that will be produced by Hasbro-owned Allspark Animation.

Littlest Pet Shop: A World of Our Own (52×11′) follows the adventures of six animal friends, including a Boston Terrier, a hamster, a parakeet and a box turtle, as they live in a pet-centric world they access via a magical portal that spans the human and pet worlds.

It will begin airing in the US on Discovery Family on April 14 and will also be available to stream live on Discovery Family Go.

Allspark Animation is the animation division of Hasbro’s fledgling film and television unit Allspark Pictures, which was formed last year to develop projects based on the toyco’s IP.

Stephen Davis, executive VP and chief content officer at Hasbro, is the executive producer of Littlest Pet Shop: A World of Our Own for Allspark Animation.
