DirecTV will carry the channel, which is already available in Brazil, pan-regionally to reach more than six million viewers across Latin America.

Food Network will be broadcast in both standard and high definition on two separate channels, offering series from Food Network US, including culinary competition Chopped, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Iron Chef America and Bobby Flay’s Barbecue Addiction.

Its launch slate in Brazil included two local productions: Menu da Semana, which sees actors Camila Raffanti and Juliana Araripe interview local chefs; and I Could Kill for Dessert, a show about cocktails and sweets hosted by Danielle Noce, who rose to prominence on YouTube.

Márcio Fonseca, MD of Scripps Networks Latin America, said viewers in the region “are hungry for engaging stories and relatable content from trusted personalities.”

DirecTV claims to have more than 20 million customers in the US and nearly 19 million in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Food Network, which launched in the US more than 20 years ago, is also available across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific.
