Destination America gets spooked

Discovery-owned US cablenet Destination America has commissioned a series from a UK prodco exploring true stories of wilderness adventures gone wrong.

Terror in the Woods (working title, 8×60′) comes from Wild Dreams Films and is in production. The company’s credits include Egyptian Vice for SpikeTV and Ancient Impossible for H2.

The series investigates unexplained paranormal encounters experienced during activities such as alligator hunting in a Louisiana bayou, ice fishing in Illinois and deer hunting in Montana.

It uses first-hand interviews alongside dramatic reconstructions to retell the haunting experiences in the woods. Canadian firm Distribution360 is handling international distribution.
